This piece is constructed out of solid quarter sawn white oak, and is a commanding 8'10" tall. There is a partial Parisian cabinet makers label on back as seen in the photos. Every detail is a testament to perfection. The piece is constructed beautifully, with tongue and groove construction, as well as a paneled rear case. 		Rosewood Sofa attributed To A & H Lejambre 1870 Important rosewood carved sofa in the French taste. This sofa was part of the Virginia Carroll Crawford Collection at the High Museum in Atlanta Ga. For the last 22 years. It was reputedly commissioned by Henry C. Gibson, and executed by A& H Lejambre in 1870. This sofa is also illustrated in “Art & Enterprise, American Decorative Art 1825-1917” pgs 130-131. It was also exhibited at the High Museum. This is a very large sofa upholstered in gold silk.
